The fear of God seems like a foreign concept to a lot of us these days .It is almost like nobody really takes God seious these days .There are some in our culture who seem to be shaking their fist in the face of God ,just daring Him to do anything about it .I read this scripture today :2 Corinthians 7
1)Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.
That is some pretty strong scripture from a mighty man of God who was inspired by a mighty God .What is it that we need to be cleansed from in order for us to perfect holiness in our lives .Do we have a healthy enough fear of God to even care about what might be defiling us before a holy God .Think about it .

The topic is a good eye opener for all of us. The fear of god is required for all of us to behave with good intent with others. It is required to act with good intent.
When love overflows in our heart, the fear of God automatically flows in us. For and when we have love, godliness is in us. therefore the requirement to be holy becomes natural without even any effort to do it.
